- Always be clean and shaved and without lotions or perfumes
on skin before airbrushing application.
- Apply lotion only on dry areas such as the bottom of your feet - elbows - knees, etc.
- Apply evenly and thoroughly on skin.
- SHAKE CAN thoroughly each time
- Use make-up sponge to dab excess into your skin.
- Do not shower for at least 6-8 hours to allow for a deep
penetrating tan.
- Allow some time (about 5 minutes) to dry before getting
dressed and
wear loose clothing if possible.
- Use a hairdryer on cool setting for a faster drying time.
- Upon your first application, it is recommended to spray

desired.
- Some residual of the DHA solution will rinse off once you
shower after tanning, and about 90% will remain on your skin.
- Some of the bronzer may get on your clothes, but not to
worry; it is water-soluble and will rinse out in the wash. (except 100% silk)
- DHA solutions do not contain sunscreen and will break up
when you come in contact with chlorine and saltwater.
- Always wipe the bottoms of you feet after airbrushing.
- When spraying your face: close your eyes, relax your face
(no squinting), and spray in an up and down motion then back
and forth to ensure complete coverage. Lightly pat with your
sponge if you have applied too much.
- Always wear sunscreen when in the sun.
- Avoid harmful UV rays from the sun or tanning beds.
- Airbrushing allows you to preserve your skin from
premature aging
and skin cancer.
- Always wipe your fingernails and toe nails after spraying
if you are not wearing clear nail polish.
- We recommend that you have a cool body temperature before
spraying for better results.

Frequently
Asked Questions |
 |
- How long does it last?
Everyone is different depending on their skin type, color, and
how quickly your skin exfoliates. The average tan lasts about
5 to 7 days from every application.
- Will I turn orange or look orange?
No! Krome Tan has spent a great deal of time in perfecting
our blend of solution so this won't happen. If you over apply
several applications back-to-back, then yes, you might have an
orange tone.
- Will my clothes get stained?
No! Krome Tan formula contains a water and sugar base and
this allows for any solution that may get on your clothes to
wash out. Dark cotton bikini or underwear shorts are suggested
when spraying. It is not suggested to wear clothing that is 100% silk.
- Will I look tan after one airbrush session?
Krome Tan solution contains 10% DHA, a bronzer and other added
ingredients to
ensure a natural looking tan as it is being applied. Your will
instantly see your new tan which will continue to develop over
the next few hours. Krome Tan recommends that for your first
time you should
apply back-to-back sessions to develop your base.
- Airbrush Tanning vs. Foams or Lotions?
Krome Tan’ goal is to supply the consumer with only the best
products. In today’s market, we are overloaded with choices.
Creams streak and foams stain our hands and feet, not to
mention the bad smell they create while developing. Krome
Tan’ airbrushing technique applies easily and sprays on as a
mist which absorbs immediately into your skin. Airbrushing is
the only safe and effective way to ensure an all over even tan
without worrying about looking orange, being streaky, or
staining your clothes. Say goodbye to the foams and creams,
and say hello to the only way of looking great. Krome Tan
will always give you a tan you can count on.
- What happens if I get wet or sweat after my airbrush
session?
If this happens, you should lightly pat down your skin with a
makeup sponge or a towel, continue to let your skin dry and
any unevenness will smooth out once you have showered.
- Is DHA Toxic or Harmful?
No, DHA has been in self-tanners and makeup for over 30 years.
Our solution will not harm you in anyway. If your skin is
somewhat sensitive, you may have a tingling feel to your skin,
which will go away slowly. The DHA reacts with the proteins in
your skin to develop your tan.
(From Skincancer.com)
The popularity of self-tanning products is surging, showing that Americans are becoming aware of the dangers of tanning. They're putting their money where their skin is.
Self-tanning products, or sunless tanning lotions, work by temporarily dying the top layer of the skin. The color slowly fades as the skin cells slough off, and usually disappear within a week unless the lotion has been reapplied.
That's a lot more healthful than a suntan, however, because while suntans also start fading after a few days, the harm done to the skin is permanent. Getting a suntan breaks down the DNA in skin cells, but using self-tanners causes no such damage. At worst, sunless tanning products present a minimal risk of irritant or allergic reactions.
Recent improvements in these sunless products have made the demand skyrocket. "They're easier to use than ever, the color appears more natural, and some lotions even contain sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF)," says Stanley B. Levy, MD, adjunct clinical professor of dermatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
But just because your skin is darker doesn't mean you're protected from UV rays. DHA in self-tanning lotions — the ingredient that darkens the skin — does offer some protection, equivalent to an SPF of about 2 to 4. That's barely any protection at all. When shopping for a self-tanner, make sure to look for one that has an SPF of at least 15. "And remember, even if the lotion contains such a sunscreen, the protection lasts only a couple of hours, not for the duration of the color change," notes Dr. Levy. "After two hours in the sun at most, you should put on more sunscreen."
Sunless tanning lotions come in light, medium, and dark tones. People with dry skin can buy brands with emollients or humectants added for softness and moisture, while people with oily skin may find that gel or alcohol-based products work better. And recently, ingredients such as vitamins, herbal extracts, antioxidants, and alpha-hydroxy acids are being added to some products in an effort to expand their benefits.
A last caution from The Skin Cancer Foundation: Don't be misled when products sound like self-tanning lotions — "Tanning amplifiers," "tan accelerators," "tanning promoters," "tanning enhancers," and worst of all, "tanning pills." Many of the products interact with the sun to create the tan, so they actually end up accentuating the damage done to the skin. The pills — which are commercially banned in the U.S. — are the worst. They contain the carotenoid chemical canthaxanthin (the same pigment found in carrots), and have been associated with hepatitis and urticaria, a condition that involves relentless itching and skin eruptions.
"Read the ingredients on the label of all these products carefully," says Dr. Levy. "Unless their active ingredient is DHA, they're not bona fide sunless tanners, and they could very well be harmful for your skin."
- If I have freckles, light skin, or varicose veins, will
airbrushing
hide them?
Yes, airbrush tanning will help to a certain degree and may
help to conceal them. It provides a less noticeable appearance
than without tanning. With a lighter skin tone, your color
will depend on how the DHA reacts with the proteins in your
skin.
- If I don't like my new tan, how can I take it off?
Shower immediately and this will remove your tan.
- What kind of results can I expect?
Depending on you skin tone, will depend on how dark or light
your skin will look. Krome Tan' blend works very well with
your natural skin tones in giving you a natural, even, golden
tan. * Ask about our extra deep bronzing drops.
- How long will this last?
Skin cells are constantly exfoliating. Use Krome Tan’
moisturizer every time after you shower to prolong the life of
your tan. Results can still be seen up to 7 days after
application.
- How does the DHA solution make your skin tan?
The DHA solution causes the proteins in the outside layer of
your skin to react with the oxygen in the air, resulting in a
bronzing effect. This is a natural chemical reaction and
enhancement that the DHA develops with your skin’s amino
acids.
- What size room do I need?
For your salon or at home a 5 x 5 space should be sufficient.
A fan and a blow dryer on a cool setting is recommended for
quicker drying after your application.
- What is your product made of?
It is proprietary, however of all the products that are out
there ours does not dry out your skin like other products, nor
does it smell. You will not be disappointed.
